This species is characterised by violet spotted rosette-leaves and by the indumentum of only glandular hairs in the inflorescence. The phyllaries have a narrow margin of stellate hairs narrowing towards the apex
In Denmark rare and probably imported together with grass-seed from Central Europe. It’s found in parks and forests near castles.
