This species is easily confused with P. floribunda and P. cymosa but differs by having stellate hairs on the lower leaf-surface as well as long, pale hairs mixed with glandular hairs on the upper part of the stem and a stigma that becomes blackish upon drying. In Denmark very rare. Introduced and naturalised on dry slopes and banks on Sjælland, Lolland, Falster, Fyn and Østjylland.
