Yellow Spotted Lady´s-slipper (Cypripedium yatabeanum)
Cypripedium yatabeanum Makino, Bot. Mag. (Tokyo). 13: 91. 1899. - Cypripedium guttatum Sw. ssp. yatabeanum (Makino) Hultén, Cypripedium guttatum Sw. var. yatabeanum (Makino) Pfitzer - An up to 4o cm high plant with long creeping rhizome. Stem with 2 basal sheaths. With long, soft hairs below the 2 or rarely 3 stemleaves, above these with short hairs and glandular hairs. Flowers solitary - labellum about 3 cm long, brown- or greenish-yellow with brown or purple spots. - Distribution: Eastern Russia, Camchatka northern parts of Japan, Aleutian Islands, southwestern Alaska.
